Ethan was a superstar model for me. He just smiled and laughed (and chose that day to almost start crawling, so he was on the move a lot). Ethan's mommy is my dear friend, so Ethan holds a special place in my heart...he is like the baby boy we never had :)

Kate is such a doll and so incredibly easy to photograph, she always does everything I ask. Couldn't ask for a better subject!

Photos with Santa.

Santa made a stop at the studio a couple weeks ago and we had great fun with him! Now, our kids have always known that Santa Claus is a fictional character. We've told them where the idea of Santa came from and about St. Nicholas, etc. But we've always been truthful with them about Santa and we have taught them that Jesus' birth is the reason we celebrate, not presents and Santa and all that. But we can still have fun and sit on Santa's lap and have a good time. So we've always had to explain to our kids that most other kids actually believe in Santa and so we have to not spoil the secret for them (when the girls were much younger they would outright laugh at adults that asked them what Santa was going to bring them). So I had to again make sure they understood that they needed to not tell all the kids that Santa was actually their grandpa. :) Avery still can't understand why some parents would lie to their kids and tell them that Santa is real...she's quite baffled by this. But so far as I know, she kept the secret.

Tutus & Ties

Last year we had great success with our tutu special, and I've had several people ask when we were going to do it again, so if you were one of those people, this is your chance. This time we are expanding it just a bit so that we include the boys too (something else you asked for), so we are introducing "Tutus and Ties". We've added several new backgrounds since we did this event last year, and we've recently been at work creating some new tutus to add to our collection as well, so even if you were in for the event last year, we will be able to create something new and different for you this time around. We have a couple dozen tutus and several ties to choose from, in addition to lots of other fun things to accessorize with, or you are welcome to bring your own.

"Tutus and Ties" includes a session (tutu or tie), one 8x10, two 5x7's and eight wallets, all for just $99 (that's a good deal!). Me+camera+baby Ava=happiness

I had the pleasure of photographing one of my favorite little people today. Miss Ava has allowed me the pleasure of photographing her several times in her short life, and she is always a joy. So, while I should have gotten to work on other things after our time together, I couldn't help but take a peek at what we captured. I'm already excited for our next session! Thank you, Ava's mommy, for letting me play with your darling Ava today...she was so good!

Blue-eyed Beauty.

This little gal was a bit timid at first, but it didn't take long for her to loosen up and start enjoying herself! She was definitely excited to try on the tutus and dance like no one was watching! I think I'll have to visit their house someday because I think it must look like a Jen Kappes Photography gallery....and I still have more kids from this family to photograph.
