I'll be away for a couple days but not because I'm metrodating.
Tomorrow is when my prints get judged. A while back when I was getting the prints ready to go to the lab, Sadie asked me what I was doing and I told her I was getting some pictures ready to enter in a contest. I asked her if she thought I would win and she said, "No. I think grandpa and grandma will win because they can do it faster because they don't have kids bothering them." Pretty funny, especially since I didn't even tell her grandma and grandpa were entering the contest...I guess she just assumed. And the fact that the contest isn't about speed. I guess most of the contests she would know of would involve speed. Tonight I asked Seth if he wanted to make bets about what my scores will be and he said he thought they'd probably be in the 60's. He could tell by the look on my face that wasn't the answer I was hoping for and he said, "What, that's not good?" So I showed him the point system...anything below a 69 is below exhibition standards. "So you don't think my photos are even good enough to be looked at?!" He reconsidered his stance. I'm not expecting to winning any awards, but I am hoping that my scores will be respectable.
Funny story....we had a charge on our credit card that we didn't authorize....the charge was for an internet dating place called metrodate. So of course I've been teasing Seth about his metrodating (whatever that is...dating in the city?). We were just thankful we noticed the charge right away and got it taken care of...and also we were impressed that the credit card company noticed too and sent us an email letting us know there was a charge they didn't think we made. Good job fraud control department.
I'll be in SLC for the better part of the next three days for the annual photography convention. Seth is taking Monday off and hanging with the girls, which they are ecstatic about. They think it's pretty cool that he's going to be home with them when he is supposed to be at work. They don't have school mon/tues because of UEA which is making it a lot easier for me to be able to slip away. Seth is even going to brave taking the girls to the dentist on Monday so I don't have to reschedule appointments. We went to the fruitstands this morning and picked pumpkins and they're going to carve pumpkins together as well. They have a stocked fridge and the girls are looking forward to some good play-lots-of-games-with-daddy time.
I'm gonna go curl up and watch "We Are Marshall." Seth thinks it's because Matthew McConaughey is in it...he's one of my favorite actors. I'm pleading the fifth.
ETA: While we were watching the movie, Seth said, "This is a very emotive film. I'm emoting." It really was a very emotive film....I found myself emoting as well. Especially since it was based on a true story. He says I always choose those kinds of movies....I like that kind that get ya right in the heart. It was good...Iif you haven't seen it, I can recommend this.

Jeepers. I just had a mild flashback to college that I hadn't remembered in a bajillion years. I think it was my last semester, Fall 99, and it involved carving pumpkins with a group of people, maybe Seth and Pete, among others? My memory is so bad . . . . It's like a whole other person's life some times!
The best of luck to you in the competition, and God-luck, too!
